Position feedback devices are commonly implemented in hydraulic applications for monitoring the performance accuracy of actuators and cylinders to improve operational efficiencies. The environment in which the embedded sensor must survive can be problematic. The hydraulic fluid is under high pressures and temperatures and the actuators and cylinders typically live in environments where heavy shock and or vibration are present. Full text

Petrobras Awards FMC Technologies $400 Million Subsea Tree Frame Agreement

FMC Technologies announced today that it has signed a four-year subsea tree frame agreement with Petrobras, Brazil's national oil company. The award is expected to result in approximately $400 million in revenue to FMC Technologies if all of the subsea equipment included in the agreement is ordered. Full text
