Revus Energy reports Torphins well 21/8-4z results

2008.07.21 - Field Development

Revus Energy ASA (OSE:REVUS) confirms well 21/8-4z as a further oil & gas discovery in block 21/8, production licence P.1107 which is located in the central North Sea Sector of the United Kingdom Continental Shelf (UKCS).
 
The well, which spudded on 9th July 2008, following completion of operations of the first well (21/8-4) on the Torphins prospect, was drilled directionally to test the western part of the prospect. The 21/8-4z well penetrated a high quality Paleocene reservoir sandstone section some 30m higher than the first well in which an oil and thin overlying gas column of approximately 9 meters thickness, was logged.
 
On completion of plug and abandon operations, the Transocean GSF Arctic II semi-submersible rig will be released. The data obtained from both of the directional wells that have penetrated the Torphins prospect will be analyzed and used to determine future activity within the licence.
 
Revus Energy (E&P) Limited has a 50% working interest in Licence P. 1107, in a group which includes Lundin Petroleum AB 40% (operator) and Challenger Minerals (North Sea) Limited (10%).

Eni has successfully drilled the last appraisal well, encountered approximately 127 metres (419 ft) of net pay in multiple sands. The initial analysis indicates good reservoir quality.
