Aker Solutions has signed a frame agreement with Shell Norway and Shell U.K. Limited for the supply of subsea umbilicals. The contract is awarded for one year with an option to extend it an additional 12 months. The award means that Aker Solutions will be the preferred supplier of steel tube umbilicals for projects in the North Sea that are managed by Shell's Norwegian and UK operations. Full text

Apache Corporation said today that it has arranged a $350 million financing for the Van Gogh and Pyrenees oil developments offshore Western Australia. The subsea two projects are expected to add a total of 40,000 barrels per day to Apache's worldwide net oil production over the next 18 months. Full text
Shell Oil Company has set a world water depth record in drilling and completing a subsea well 9,356 feet (1.77 miles) below the water's surface in the Silvertip Field at the Perdido Development project, approximately 200 miles from Houston in the Gulf of Mexico. Full text
Petrobras announces that it has completed the drilling of two new wells in the pre-salt layer off the coast of Espírito Santo and proved an expressive discovery of light oil (30 degrees API) in the area called Parque das Baleias. The recoverable volume of the discoveries, made in pre-salt reservoirs located underneath the Baleia Franca, Baleia Azul, and Jubarte heavy oil fields. Full text
FMC Technologies Inc., acting through it`s wholly owned subsidiary FMC Kongsberg Holdings AS, has acquired 25,000,000 shares in Roxar ASA, representing 10.27% of Roxar`s outstanding share capital. The most recent addition to the Sonsub fleet, the multipurpose ROV support vessel Bourbon Pearl, has completed successful operations in what was Sonsub's most northerly work site to date. The vessel had been performing ElectroMagnetic (EM) offshore exploration for PetroMarker AS in the Barents Sea, operating from Hammerfest in Northern Norway. Full text
Eni Norge, as operator for the Goliat field has today submitted the Impact Assessment Plan (IA) to the MPE. The plan recommend that Goliat will be developed using subsea wells linked to a circular floating production, storage and offloading facility (FPSO). Full text
