Subsea 7 gives update on its worldwide operations
Activity levels in the North Sea remained high for the quarter.
The pipeline bundle for Total’s Jura project was launched, hooked up and tested, with the support of the Rockwater 1. The bundle included one of the heaviest manifolds ever installed by the Company, representing a significant achievement. Work continued on Venture’s Chestnut project, with the majority of the scope being completed in the quarter. This was supported by the Rockwater 1, which then went on to commence additional work on Total’s K5F project. Talisman’s Galley project was successfully completed and the first phase of Talisman’s Claymore project was also undertaken.
The Seven Navica undertook pipelay activities for BP Foinaven, before completing Statoil Hydro’s Mongstad project
and commencing work on the Statfjord Vigdis project. After successful commissioning and trials, the Seven Seas commenced operations in Norway for the Statoil Hydro Yttergryta project.
The new Vigra spoolbase in Norway was fully operational, producing pipe for the Mongstad and Vigdis projects, before commencing fabrication in respect of Venture’s Grouse, Chestnut P2 and Stamford projects. Inspection, Repair and Maintenance (IRM) operations continued on the Shell, ConocoPhillips, Total and BP frame agreements.
Project management, engineering and procurement continued on Statoil Hydro’s Troll and Vega projects and BP’s Skarv and Valhall Re-Development projects in Norway. Other significant activities to note for the half year include the successful completion of the pipelay work on Total’s L4PN and K5F projects, as well as the work associated with the riser and umbilical installation on Venture’s Chestnut field.
Africa
Offshore work commenced on the Chevron Tombua Landana project with the Seven Oceans, with the project scheduled for completion in first quarter of 2009. The operations are being supported at the spool base in Luanda, Angola. Operations continued on the BP Block 18 Life of Field project, offshore Angola.
Other significant activities to note for the half year include the successful completion of the Exxon Mobil Saxi Batuque
project in Angola.
Brazil
The pipelay phase of the Petrobras Hybrid Steel project was completed during the quarter with the Seven Oceans. The Normand Seven continued to make good progress in support of the offshore operations on the Roncador project. Project management, procurement and engineering commenced in respect of the Sul Capixaba project and continued on the Peregrino project. Shell’s BC10 project progressed, with onshore fabrication of the steel catenary risers continuing at the Ubu base in Brazil.
The Lochnagar and K3000 continued to support Petrobras on day rate operations. Other significant activities to note for the half year include the completion of the remaining pipelay activity on the PDEG project for Petrobras by the Seven Oceans during the first quarter.
Americas
Activity continued in the North and Central America (NACA) region during the quarter, with the successful completion of BP’s Atlantis project. BP’s Thunder Horse project is ongoing with the support of the Skandi Neptune. Following the quarter end, contract awards were placed in respect of the construction of the new pipe fabrication spoolbase at Port Isabel, Texas, with site work having commenced.
Asia Pasific
The Woodside Vincent and ENI Woollybutt projects in Australia and the Origin Kupe and Shell Maui projects in New Zealand, were all successfully completed. Project management and engineering continued in respect of the KNOC Donghae project, with mobilisation activities in respect of the Rockwater 2 commencing.
